Cunning

I've been had totally. And Beanbear said I was cunning!
Haiz...

Updates that I was too distracted to write about recently...

[14 Dec]
Cheryl gave birth to her twins =)

It was our company's DnD at My Secret Garden. The organisers did a good job. There was a greeting party with our Mr Han and Yuan Lue in their Santa Claus and Santarini costumes, giving out door gifts. There was a booth to paint your tatoos. There was good finger food to go around.
The interior and the food disappointed me as I had high expectations. Nevertheless, we had good fun.

I then rushed off to the chalet with our Trek group. We played our own Trek bingo and watched the movie Soldier before we called it quits.

[15 Dec]
I stayed on till midnight when I headed home. I was in danger of falling sick.

Story link here.

[16 Dec]
Finally had my long awaited gathering with Gnel, Yongchin and Wendy at Secret Recipe, Suntec. Everyone was decently happy at where they are right now.

[17-18 Dec]
Finally had to admit to myself that I'm sick =\

[19 Dec, morning]
It's my day-off; I bounced back. I also got "recalled" to office by my users..

[19 Dec, 12:30hrs] - Big5 gathering
I was early; They were late.
We had lunch at Pasta de Waraku. The food was pretty good overall and the service was prompt. It was also revealed that I'm going to have a "brother" - finally! Congrats =)

[20 Dec]
We visited Belachanbabe and her angels. They look healthy and the Wees looked pretty pleased with themselves. We had fun with her parent's WII set but scooted off when their relatives arrived. After that, we had a long chit chat session with Ah Yam and Jinlian before heading home.

Gary n Jane are tying the knot. Congratulations.

Year end activities

I'll be involved in migrating some materials from the old naming convention to the new one.
Haven't done this for years; I know it's a lot of work.
Till then, I won't be going on any trips till this year is over.

Bird's eye view

An offer of help from a son of the Northmen
A visit of curiosity from an owl
Yet the two coachmen

Team dinner

-edited for errors in team organisation

Plan: Combined team dinner between Shared Services (my team), Web Support Team and Management Support team (admin + HR). It also involves our MD and Finance Controller.
Timing: 6pm
Venue: House of Sudanese

--Pre-dinner
5.30pm
Wartortle: Erm.. Dinner at 6, why isn't anyone moving?
JW: lol. I solving something too.

5.45pm
JW: Wanna go together?
Wartortle: I waiting for Desmond and Desmond is waiting for HR but HR is having discussions...
JW: Ok...

5.50pm
JW: Our dinner is at 6pm, but no one is moving!
Small boss: Ok! Let's go!

--Turnout
Shared Services-2 team was represented by... me! Together with small boss and my HOD. Christy and Mr Han are absent due to health and work.
Web Support team was represented by Mei Hua (wartortle), Mustafa and Desmond.
Management Support team brought our admin girl Anjeline and our 2 HR ladies.
Lastly, out Finance controller and MD.

--Execution
Good food and wine. Speeches and promises. Our MD asked for greater co-operation within teams and to share knowledge freely. He offered to give us his ears if we have issues with management. Also, these team dinners should be a monthly affair. Good words and sounds sincere enough. I just wish that if nothing else, at least management believes in the spirit of it.

Finding stock balance at any point in time 2/2

previously..

Ok, got to take back my words, it wasn't that hard after all. After struggling with my old program for many days, I gave up and built a new one from scratch. The result is something that runs slower but is better designed in every aspect.

congrats to huijun and suping

congrats to huijun aka huikoon for her delivery of her girl while suping for getting married. cheers

Aids statistics: Homosexual to be blamed?

The newest statistics are out.

[Of the infected]
-93% are guys
-52% are single
-24% are homosexual

Given our govt and people's skewered perspective, the homosexual community is to be blamed.
Let's do a little maths.

[Gays]
In the 52% single group, 93% are male ==> 48.36% are guys who are single (straight + gays)
If 24% of the infected are homosexual, that means approx 49% of all single males who are infected are gays.

Ah, you see. If you have liberties with your figures, that's an alarming one. "Oh no, half of our precious male population will be infected. Help!"

However, instead of looking for a bogeyman, why not look are these?
[Of the infected]
-67% are heterosexual
-32% are married
-13% are divorced or separated

67% didn't get it from a homosexual.
45% are playing the field when they shouldn't have.
Compared to the 24% homosexual group, which group is more guilty of spreading the virus?
