Loss of passport in Malaysia

In the event that you lost your passport in Malaysia, you should do the following:
1. Make a local (Malaysia) police report. Have the "narration" of the case be written in English.
2. Inform the Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur at 0166610400.
3. Go to the Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur to obtain a temporary passport.
4. Return to Singapore, explaining to each checkpoint that you lost your passport.

That's the by-right path.
I took a by-left, legally.

Yes, I lost my passport but the story won't be told here.

Overall, I was impressed with the Johor police. They were professional and friendly. They don't scare you. They don't ask for coffee money.
The Singapore Police set the bar even higher. While I was kept waiting, I imagined them pulling out my security clearance and all the intelligence on me...
Overactive imagination.

[Time wasted]
Johor police station - 1 hr
Making calls - 2 hr
Johor CIQ - 30 min

Grumbling about lost passport - XX hr

Total time wasted: 5 hr 30 min + XX hr
