Jared was the cocky C programmer who inspired me to catch up with him; though I never did. Upon my ORD, he pulled strings to get me an interview but his boss saw me no up.
The banquet was at Marina Mandarin. ST and I reached there at 7.20pm for the cocktail party; introducing her to Shubin. Dinner was to start at 8.00pm.
The banquet started at 8.45pm; much to my annoyance. The last to arrive was an elderly lady; helped in by a guy. If giving allowance for her immobility, then I can't fault her. Though if she's such a VIP, then why couldn't the guy fetch her earlier?
After the "dancing" and the waiting for the staff to be recycled and serve us, the food arrived on our table at 9.00pm. My table has 3 empty seats this time; I think that rumour that I eat my fellow guests must be still floating around.
Jared was given a "Ribena" drink from our table; I think it looked disgusting. However, he and his wife gamely drank it up.
