What is the difference between thrifty and being stingy?

Thrifty: not spending for comfort items.
Stingy: not spending for comfort items.


Thrifty: likes to save.
Stingy: likes to save.

What is the difference then?

p.s.  I believe there's a difference but I hope to get different views then putting my judgement down.
